CHARCA NATIONAL DISSEMINATION MEETING
The National Dissemination Meeting held in Delhi on the 24th October 2007 marked the conclusion of three years work by the CHARCA program and provided a unique opportunity for academics, stakeholders, and other partners to see for the first time the gains made in the raising of HIV awareness among women throughout rural India.

A national level media workshop was organised by CHARCA in association with Samyak Foundation and included journalists and editors from six CHARCA districts and Delhi.

HEROES OF RESILIENCE FROM CHARCA: Outstanding CHARCA civil society partners were recognized by UNAIDS on World AIDS Day, 2006 for finding innovative and effective ways to address HIV around the country.

14TH AND 15TH SEPTEMBER, 2006
SECOND NATIONAL LEVEL PEER EDUCATORS CONFERENCE, KANPUR
The second National Peer Educators’ Conference was held in Kanpur, UP.The conference provided the participants with technical inputs on involving community stakeholders, addressing gender and sexuality, and modules of peer outreach among other subjects.

1st December 2006
WORLD AIDS DAY
CHARCA joined hands with NACO, DSACS, DFID, RCHSA and Heroes Foundation this year to organise a World AIDS Day program that began with a week long youth outreach program, and culminated in an national awards ceremony and infotainment show on 1 st December.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2006
On the eve of the International Women’s Day, 7th March ‘06, more than two thousand men and women congregated at the Siri Fort Auditorium to raise awareness, launching a campaign to strengthen the Commitment to Protect the Young and Vulnerable, specially to reach out to the young women from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society.
